If Motley Crue had to sell out, at least they did it in style with their Super Bowl commercial for Kia. It features Victoria's Secret model Adriana Lima and Ultimate Fighter Chuck Liddell. Car ads, Las Vegas residencies...not a bad way to grow old.

After Mario Lemieux, who should be Pittsburgh's next sports statue?
The Pirates have four: Roberto Clemente, Bill Mazeroski, Willie Stargell and Honus Wagner. They also display a bronze casting of Ralph Kiner's hands.
The Steelers have one: Founder Art Rooney Sr.
Lemieux will be the Penguins' first.
The Pirates have obviously overdone it. They have as many statues and sculptures as they do world championships. The Pirates can't win, so they give fans statues, fireworks, bobbleheads and Styx.
The Steelers' message is loud and clear. They've won six Super Bowls. Sixteen Steelers players are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. But there's one statue, and it's the original owner. The Rooneys are what counts.
If I may suggest, Pitt should erect a statue of Tony Dorsett, either on campus or at Heinz Field. Dorsett is the greatest of Pitt's great, and a Western Pennsylvania native to boot.
UPDATE: PNC Park has a feature called Legacy Square that displays statues of seven prominent Pittsburgh-based Negro Leaguers, including Josh Gibson and Satchel Paige. Excellent. I'd still like to see the Pittsburgh Crawfords (Hill District) and Homestead Grays somehow memorialized on their respective home turfs.
Arnold Palmer is from Latrobe. Let Latrobe erect his statue. As for Bruno Sammartino, he's a fake wrestler. Build a pretend statue.

An anonymous doctor in Toronto says Sidney Crosby should retire. When a physician opines so dramatically, shouldn't he at least put his name to it? Just sayin'.
What does this doctor know that others don't, especially considering he's never examined Sid? Do they even have real doctors in Canada?
Anyone who says Crosby should quit doesn't understand how hard it is to walk away from a gift like Sid's. Anyone who pushes retirement has never had a gift.
Sid's 24. Hockey is his life. What's he supposed to do if he retires, sit on a beach and count his money? Can't do that indefinitely.
If Crosby played for the Maple Leafs, that same doctor in Toronto would tell Sid to suit up even if Crosby had explosives strapped to his chest and a Montreal fan had his finger on the button. GO LEAFS GO! O Canada, eh?
Imagine if this was an Olympics year. Canada might burn. We've got to get gold again, Sid. You can drool into your soup later.
Not sure what to make of the most recent diagnosis. It's weird that whatever's said latest is suddenly perceived as gospel. But if you want optimism, here goes: Crosby's demeanor is much lighter, as if a weight's been lifted.

Who can provide the Penguins more secondary scoring?
Before you answer, remember: The key word in that question is CAN.
Many clamor for W Tyler Kennedy to pick up his production. To earn the $2m per Kennedy signed up for this past off-season.
Kennedy had a career year in 2010-11: 21 goals, 24 assists. But last season, Kennedy got primo ice time, including power-play minutes, because of so many injuries. Injuries have also been prevalent this campaign, true. But Kennedy, when not concussed, has mostly assumed his usual role from years past.
He's also assumed his usual numbers from years past: Witness six goals in 38 games. It's a similar pace to 2009-10 (13 goals), '08-09 (15 goals) and '07-08 (10 goals). Last season was the FLUKE. This is the REAL TYLER KENNEDY.
That's no insult. Kennedy's a very useful player. He just got overpaid based on his most productive showing. More power to him.
But when you talk about GETTING MORE from guys, you can't get blood from a rock. Guys like Kennedy, Pascal Dupuis and Matt Cooke are on their usual paces.
If the Penguins are to get more secondary scoring, it may have to come from someone like Dustin Jeffrey. Can he realize more of his potential after returning from knee problems? So far, so bad: Two goals in 14 games.
To net more pucks, GM Ray Shero may ultimately have to pull the trigger on a trade of some magnitude. I'm told he's willing. The Pens have the goaltending and defense to make a Stanley Cup run. Jordan Staal returns at some point. If lesser lights among the forwards don't produce more, Shero should spin the wheel.
