This is Barkley, a 5 year old male Akita and Chow Chow mix. Barkley is very independent and enjoys roaming on his own and checking out all kinds of smells. However, when Barkley wants attention he will climb right into your lap to get it! Barkley would be a great addition to calm household.
This pet is altered, up-to-date with routine shots and required to go home with a Martingale safety collar.

Circumstances of dog coming to shelter: Banjo was found in Washington as a stray, the owner was contacted and they no longer wanted him, so they surrendered him to WAHS
Condition of animal when it came in, if significant: Banjo is a big boy! Partially due to lack of nutrition and partially due to a thyroid condition
Current condition or positive changes: He is on a strict diet to help with his thyroid and weight.
Medications: he is being treated for a thyroid condition.
Special qualities and/or tricks: Banjo is as easy going as they come. He has not a care in the world and moves about at a slow, enjoyable pace.

Circumstances of dog coming to shelter: Minnie was surrendered by her with four of her puppies because they were unable to afford care for her and her litter.
Condition of animal when it came in, if significant: Minnie had recently given birth when she came to us, so her nad her puppies went to a foster home.
Current condition or positive changes: Minnie is now back at the shelter and has weaned her puppies, meaning they no longer rely on her milk for food. Her puppies are still in foster, but Minnie is ready to find a home!

Special qualities and/or tricks: Minnie loves to play ball with other dogs, but she prefers to be the one in charge.
Additional info radio audience should know: Minnie is a very sweet and tiny beagle. She LOVES attention and prefers to be close by your side.
