I have no inside knowledge. I'm just making an educated guess.
But I believe Sidney Crosby will play in Game 2 against the New York Islanders tomorrow night at Consol Energy Center.
Consider the evidence:
*Crosby practiced extensively today.
*Crosby skated between his usual linemates, Pascal Dupuis and Chris Kunitz.
*Crosby worked with the top power-play unit.
If Coach Dan Bylsma planned on Crosby not playing, Bylsma would have had Jussi Jokinen skate in Crosby's spot by way of preparing for Game 2. You practice like you intend on playing. Witness the Pens' practice prior to Game 1. Crosby worked on the fifth line. He did not skate with the top power play.
All logic points to Crosby playing tomorrow night.
After yesterday's practice, Crosby said a follow-up appointment with the doctor had not been scheduled. Maybe none is needed. Perhaps, at the last examination, the doctor told Crosby he would be ready to go by Game 2.
If Crosby doesn't play, Bylsma ran a nonsensical practice that leaves him open for criticism. Bylsma wouldn't do that. I bet Crosby plays.
UPDATE: SID PLAYS! It's official. Believe your eyes and common sense, not what you're told.
