ANNA BURNS WELKER, wife of New England wide receiver Wes and a former Miss Hooters International, posted this statement on Facebook after the Patriots lost to Baltimore in Sunday’s AFC Championship Game:

"Proud of my husband and the Pats. By the way, if anyone is bored, please go to Ray Lewis' Wikipedia page. 6 kids 4 wives. Acquitted for murder. Paid a family off. Yay. What a hall of fame player! A true role model!"

Mrs. Welker later apologized. Inoffensive lie > unpleasant truth.

Is Mrs. Welker right? Is she wrong? Is she racist, as Steelers DB Ryan Clark tweeted? Should football wives be seen, but not heard?

I believe Mrs. Welker should be heard. And, as this video and picture confirm, she should definitely be seen.
