The Kansas City Chiefs are the worst team in pro football. The Chiefs are 1-7. They have committed an amazing 29 turnovers while allowing 30 points per game.

There’s no way the Steelers should lose at Heinz Field tonight. NO WAY.

But there’s also NO WAY they should have lost to Tennessee (4-6) or Oakland (3-6).

Between a three-game winning streak and the bright lights of Monday Night Football, the Steelers should win this game just on adrenaline.

But, speaking more tangibly, the Steelers need a two-score lead in the first quarter. The Steelers need an early takeaway, and ZERO TURNOVERS. The Steelers need to be as physical as they were at New York. The Steelers need three, not seven.

THE STEELERS MUST LEAVE NO DOUBT.

The Steelers let Tennessee and Oakland hang around. The Steelers led the Raiders by just three at halftime. Tennessee led 16-10 at the intermission. Bad teams enter games looking for a soft place to land. Opposition incompetence gives them BELIEF.

Tonight is not the time for the Steelers to dispense belief. Losing to the Titans and Raiders will cost them something at season’s end, whether it’s home field, a bye, a division title, or even a playoff spot. Losing tonight would exacerbate such potential.

The Steelers have one big edge: Chiefs Coach Romeo Crennel, besides being 0-8 against the Steelers, just LOOKS STUPID. Mike Tomlin does not. The Chiefs are also without former Pitt quarterback Tyler Palko, 1-3 as a starter last season. Don’t laugh. Matt Cassel is 1-5 this year. Chiefs fans will someday long for the glory days of Palko.

Hopefully by halftime tonight.
